A review and ode to the work I’ve put in so far.

Initially, I made my own Medium account purely to get my thoughts out easily and simply. I saw a couple of Youtube videos showing off the platform and thought it would be the one for me. It was simple to upload to, and there was a lot of growth available. After starting, I realized that all of this and more was true. I love Medium, and I’ve never felt more focused on my writing before.

For the month of July, I tried to write as many great articles as I possibly could. I put serious work into them, and got myself into 3 different amazing publications. I learned so much about my writing style and what my goals as a writer are, while also taking the time to acknowledge other writing techniques. Both of these things helped me tremendously, and showed me the areas in which I need to grow. After reading my first article compared to the ones I’ve created in the past week, I can already see where I’m learning how to get my points across efficiently.

The best decision I possibly made was to make a goal of posting a story every single day. While this has only gone on for 2 weeks now, I can tell where consistency is key. It forces me to be creative and produce new and incentive ideas constantly. I can’t submit to the writer’s block I find myself in every couple days. I have to push past it, and find something that will benefit the world and myself. After all, that has become my whole goal as a writer on Medium. Give people skills and tools that will benefit their lives. It’s not all about the money I make per article, or how many stories I can write in 31 days. It’s deeper than that.

I want to enrich lives and become better.

Trying to expand my personal knowledge, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time reading up on advice about Medium. More than the financial and general advice, I’ve seen people talk about the really important part of Medium. It’s to make others lives easier. I want to do that for people. I want my little daily articles to mean something to people, and I want to help out when I can.

To those who have supported me on my first month on Medium, thank you for being you. You mean the world to me, and I hope to create endless success soon.
